EDRK Design

EDRK Design is a landscape architecture and consulting firm specializing in creating sustainable, functional, and inspiring outdoor spaces—including high-end residential, commercial, and public projects in the parks and recreation industry.

Principal Dan Frank brings over 34 years of experience in the green industry, with the past 27 years as a registered landscape architect licensed in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana (CLARB certified). His expertise includes master planning, site programming, hardscape design, and community-focused projects that enhance public use and environmental balance.

In the 1990s, Dan founded a design-build landscape company, where he designed and installed residential projects throughout Greater Cincinnati. Recognizing his passion lay more in design than construction, he transitioned to roles at other firms. He established the landscape architecture department at a local civil engineering and survey firm, then spent over 12 years at a multi-disciplinary firm in Cincinnati, rising to associate level. Following that, he worked for a landscape architecture firm in Central Ohio before launching EDRK Design, LLC.

Dan has applied his skills to parks and recreation contexts, including contributions to memorial and first-responder park designs. His work emphasizes innovative, client-driven solutions for public open spaces, trails, recreational facilities, and sustainable landscapes that promote community well-being, accessibility, and long-term environmental health.

EDRK is deeply family-oriented—the company's initials represent Dan's wife and adult children's first names. We are dedicated to creating sustainable and beautiful landscapes that enhance the environment, whether private gardens or public parks. Our mission is to deliver innovative design solutions that reflect our clients' visions while respecting nature's balance, fostering vibrant recreational spaces for communities to enjoy for generations.
